  3. - The freedesktop.org shared MIME database spec.
  4. - The merged GNOME and KDE databases, in the new format.
  5. - The update-mime-database command, used to install new MIME data.

  8. To install:

  10. Do the usual:
  11.     
  12.     $ ./configure
  13.     $ make
  14.     $ make install
  15.  
  16. If you want to install to your home directory, you should instead do:

  18.     $ ./configure --prefix=$HOME/.local
  19.     $ make
  20.     $ make install
  21.  
  22. You'll need to make sure that $HOME/.local/bin is in your PATH, of course.
